Bayern Munich cruised past Union Saint-Gilloise with a comfortable 2-0 victory on Wednesday night, as part of Matchday 7 of the Champions League.
This win was marked by Harry Kane’s brilliance, with the English striker netting a quick-fire brace in just three minutes (52’, 55’). The Bavarians now sit second with 18 points and have already secured direct qualification to the round of 16.
Thanks to his two goals, the English striker has climbed the ranks among the greatest goal scorers in European competition history.
Indeed, the former Tottenham Hotspur forward now boasts 71 goals, overtaking Filippo Inzaghi (70 goals) to claim sixth place.
Cristiano Ronaldo remains the all-time leading scorer in the history of the European Cup with 145 goals, ahead of Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski, who added to his tally during Barça’s 4-2 victory away at Slavia Prague.
