With the window closing next Tuesday at 11pm BST, major Premier League and European deals remain in play. According to NY Times, Manchester City remain interested in Enzo Fernandez after Chelsea’s self-imposed deadline passed without a bid.
Xabi Alonso has not ruled out a sale. City have agreed a deal for Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi, yet any Fernandez move depends on a fee Chelsea accept and them adding cover. Chelsea could also sell Pedro Neto, around €100m, plus Nicolas Jackson, Liam Delap, with Nottingham Forest in advanced talks, and Marc Guiu.
Arsenal could sell Gabriel Martinelli to Al Hilal for about £60 million, and the 25-year-old is open to it. They also like Julian Alvarez, who wants to move and prefers Barcelona, though Atletico would consider Arsenal at €150m, £128.3m, $174.8m.
Liverpool are prioritising Bradley Barcola, though a gap to Paris Saint-Germain’s price remains and talks could run late. Cody Gakpo interests Tottenham Hotspur and City despite Liverpool not actively seeking a sale, while £50m and £60m bids for Yankuba Minteh have been rejected by Brighton & Hove Albion.
Al Hilal also want Ollie Watkins, with Aston Villa rejecting a fourth offer on Friday and Unai Emery directing questions over Sunday’s absence to the player’s agent. Watkins is keen but Villa need a suitable bid and a replacement. Newcastle United are advancing for City’s Nico Gonzalez, while Crystal Palace’s signing of Anan Khailili could free Daniel Munoz.
