Manchester City are pushing to sign Ayyoub Bouaddi after his World Cup breakout, while Manchester United move to trigger Youri Tielemans’ £35million clause. According to NY Times, there are key updates across the market.

The 18-year-old Lille midfielder has been tracked by City, Arsenal and United over the past year. Bouaddi is set to weigh up options on his return, including staying.

A valuation near €100million could limit bidders. Some would buy and loan him back, though City prefer to integrate him as midfield remains a priority after Bernardo Silva’s exit. They have added Elliot Anderson for £116million and weighed Sandro Tonali before his Spurs move.

United are set to finalise Tielemans via his clause, having stepped back from a €44.5million deal for Atalanta’s Ederson after further medical tests. They have also signed Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £48million plus £2million in add-ons.

Arsenal have signed former Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a two-year deal with an option, and he is anticipated to be third choice behind David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga if the latter stays. Kepa’s £5million release clause has expired, but Arsenal would consider suitable offers.

Liverpool’s Michael Edwards has departed as FSG’s CEO of football, with Mike Gordon resuming oversight. City signed goalkeeper Pierce Charles and loaned him to QPR, while Nathan Ake joined Fenerbahce. Barcelona agreed deals for Joao Cancelo for €10million and Karim Adeyemi for €22million, and Real Madrid sold Fran Garcia to Real Betis for close to €4million as Aurelien Tchouameni extended to 2031.
