Recent speculation suggesting Zinedine Zidane could return to Real Madrid as potential replacement for Xabi Alonso has been firmly dismissed by reliable Spanish journalist Jose Felix Diaz.

Over the past week, multiple reports hinted that the French legend was being viewed internally as the "backup option" should Alonso’s project fail to convince the club.

However, Diaz — one of the closest reporters to Real Madrid’s hierarchy — has clarified that the rumours are "completely false"..

No managerial change considered

According to Diaz, Real Madrid have not discussed, evaluated or planned any scenario involving coaching replacement — neither in the past nor in the present.

The board remain fully aligned with Xabi Alonso who only recently took charge as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor.
