The three points were already in the bag when referee Florian Badstübner announced four minutes of stoppage time during the closing stages of the away game at 1. FC Heidenheim. Josip Stanišić, Michael Olise and Luis Díaz had given FC Bayern a comfortable lead, and captain Harry Kane would also be rewarded for his tireless efforts with a goal of his own a little later.
But before that happened – at the moment the green number 30 lit up on the display board on the touchline – the evening in the sold-out Voith Arena became even more unforgettable for one of the record champions' 16-year-old talents. After David Santos had already come off the bench in the 72nd minute to make his professional debut, Cassiano Kiala was then also given the chance to get a taste of Bundesliga action for a few moments. The Germany youth international became the Bavarians' second-youngest Bundesliga debutant and joined an exclusive group of young players. fcbayern.com takes a look at FC Bayern's youngest Bundesliga debutants.
It's hard to believe that a player who now plays such a central role in Vincent Kompany's team only made his debut for FC Bayern at the start of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. Karl came off the bench in the 69th minute of the opener against RB Leipzig in August 2025 and immediately showed flashes of his potential. In the remaining 20 minutes, he made an impact, causing all sorts of problems on the right wing and helped to increase the score to 6-0. Kompany has since placed his trust several times in the dribbling artist, who was trained at the FC Bayern Campus, by putting him in the starting XI.
In June 2020, Jamal Musiala exploded onto the scene at FC Bayern. The attacking midfielder, who had previously gained playing experience in the U19s and with the FC Bayern reserves, made his Bundesliga debut in the home game against SC Freiburg (3-1), coming off the bench for Thomas Müller in the 88th minute. It was a significant step in the brilliant development Musiala has undergone in his first five years with the German record champions, and our number 10 is now firmly esconced in the team. When he stepped onto the Allianz Arena pitch, Musiala was Bayern's youngest Bundesliga debutant, but he now ranks sixth.
Mathys Tel was even younger when he made his Bundesliga debut in August 2022 – 15 days younger, to be precise. The striker came off the bench for Serge Gnabry in the 65th minute of the away game against Eintracht Frankfurt (6-1). Tel had already played first-team football at his first club Stade Rennes from an early age: when he made his league debut in August 2021 at 16 years and 110 days, he became the youngest player in the history of the French first division club. He's currently under contract at Tottenham Hotspur.
Tel was also on the pitch when Arijon Ibrahimović made his Bundesliga debut in February 2023. The versatile attacking player made his maiden appearance in front of his home crowd against VfL Bochum (3-0), coming on for Leroy Sané in the 77th minute. Ibrahimović, who moved to the FC Bayern Campus in the summer of 2018, was the next young talent to make the leap to the senior side. He now gets regular game time in Germany's top flight: after loan spells at Frosinone Calcio and Lazio, he's currently on loan at 1. FC Heidenheim.
A home game during the Oktoberfest is always a special occasion in the FC Bayern calendar. And that's what made Wisdom Mike's debut in the game against SV Werder Bremen (4-0) an even more extraordinary experience. In the 84th minute, the number 36 replaced Luis Díaz, instantly creating a threat on the left flank and becaming FC Bayern's third-youngest Bundesliga player. He also made his Champions League debut in the 4-0 win over Club Brugge in October.
Cassiano Kiala had his big moment in Heidenheim. The centre-back was given the task of keeping things tight at the back alongside Jonathan Tah in stoppage time. And he did so successfully: Bayern kept a clean sheet and in their final match before the winter break celebrated their 13th win in 15 Bundesliga games. The best came at the end – from Kiala's point of view, of course, as he will be looking to earn more game time in the German top flight in the new year.
No FC Bayern player was younger than Paul Wanner when he made his Bundesliga debut. He will surely never forget the home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach in January 2022. With quarter of an hour to go, Julian Nagelsmann brought Wanner on for Marc Roca in central midfield. Although he and his teammates were unable to prevent the narrow 2-1 defeat, there was still a positive side to the evening with the debut of another young talent from the FC Bayern Campus.
