Bukayo Saka celebrated a milestone moment during the Premier League’s weekend action, after scoring his 50th top-flight goal in English football.

Saka’s sweet strike opened the scoring in Arsenal’s draw with Liverpool at the Emirates and saw the winger bring up a half-century of Premier League goals. In the process, he became the youngest player to achieve the feat for Arsenal in the division.

The Chilean was a star signing for the Gunners in 2014, arriving in a £34m deal after successful spells at Udinese and Barcelona. Sanchez produced the best football of his career in North London, where he struck 80 goals in 166 games.

He never recaptured those same heights after leaving for Manchester United in 2018.

4. Robin van Persie – 27 years and 162 days

Arsenal brought Robin van Persie to the Premier League as a teenager, with the Dutchman viewed as talented but troublesome at Feyenoord. He started his time at Arsenal as a winger before evolving into a free-scoring forward during his latter time with the club.

Van Persie reached 50 goals for the Gunners aged 27 years and 162 days, as injuries and inconsistency plagued his early years. His final season with the club saw Van Persie score 30 goals in the Premier League in 2011/12, to win the PFA Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year awards.

3. Theo Walcott – 26 years and 69 days

Theo Walcott was another talent snapped up as a starlet as Arsenal brought in the electric winger from Southampton.

Such was his promise, Walcott was taken to the World Cup with England in 2006 aged 17, despite having never played a Premier League game for Arsenal. He made 378 appearances and scored 108 goals during a long career in North London, reaching 50 goals in the Premier League aged 26.

2. Thierry Henry – 24 years and 128 days

Thierry Henry previously held the record as the youngest Arsenal player to reach 50 goals in the Premier League.

Signed from Juventus as an underperforming winger, Arsene Wenger transformed Henry into arguably Arsenal’s greatest-ever player at centre-forward. The Frenchman scored a record-breaking 228 goals for the Gunners and won a record four Premier League Golden Boots during an illustrious career in the capital.

1. Bukayo Saka – 23 years and 52 days

Saka smashed the record as the youngest Arsenal player to reach 50 Premier League goals, beating Henry’s landmark by over a year. The Hale End graduate broke into the team as a teenager and has not looked back, emerging as one of the most effective wide players in European football.

His goal against Liverpool saw him reach 50 goals in the Premier League aged 23 years and 52 days, placing him seventh overall in the division’s history – fractionally ahead of Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.
