Theo Hernandez is leaning towards accepting Al Hilal’s proposal as his exit from AC Milan nears (h/t Gianluca Di Marzio).

The French left-back’s transfer saga has been dragging on for weeks. He initially turned down a lucrative offer from Al Hilal in favour of a move to his former club Atletico Madrid.

But a deal collapsed after the Spanish giants decided against raising their offer to match Milan’s valuation.

The 27-year-old is now reconsidering his decision to move to the Saudi Pro League, with Al Hilal accelerating their efforts to reach an agreement with him.

Milan have been pushing to sell him after he declined a renewal offer with a lower salary. They want to avoid the risk of losing him for free next summer when his contract runs out.

With Al Hilal’s bid reported to be around €35 million, the Italian giants are looking to profit from Theo’s sale, having signed him from Real Madrid for €20m in 2019.

Since his move to San Siro, Theo has enjoyed a meteoric rise as one of the prominent left-backs in Europe.

He was influential in the Scudetto triumph in 2022 and this year’s Italian Super Cup. He has registered 34 goals and 45 assists in 262 appearances for Rossoneri.

Al Hilal would strengthen an already star-studded squad with the addition of Theo. The Saudi giants are aiming to win more silverware under new manager Simone Inzaghi in the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Milan will look to sign a new left-back in this transfer window if they part ways with Theo.

Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko is among the potential targets, with Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri an admirer of his profile.
