Théo Zidane extends Cordoba stay until 2027 | OneFootball

Théo Zidane has signed a new deal with Cordoba, extending his stay until June 2027 in Spain's second tier. According to L'Équipe, the 24-year-old attacking midfielder opted to continue after his contract ran out on 30 June.

He was given 15 days to weigh up his future and had opportunities to move on, with interest from Getafe in the division above. He has instead stayed with the side that finished ninth last season.

Club and player will continue together for one additional season. Coach Ivan Ania wanted to keep the former France U16, U17 and U20 international, who has 21 caps. Since signing in summer 2024, he has played 57 matches and scored five goals.

Zidane came through Real Madrid's academy and featured in nearly 100 games for Castilla before joining Cordoba.

He will again share the division with his brother Luca, 28, who remains Granada's goalkeeper after returning from the World Cup with Algeria. Granada finished 14th in 2025-2026.

Another brother, Elyaz, 20, has recently joined Red Star in Ligue 2 from Betis Sevilla. Their father, the probable future France head coach, will also keep an eye on both second tiers, more for family than sporting reasons.
