Today was a special day for the FC Barcelona forward Ferran Torres, as he celebrated his 25th birthday, even though he was born on 29th February 2000, a leap year.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the former Manchester City and Valencia forward appeared in an interview on this occasion to allow fans to get to know him better.

Torres talked about different aspects of his life and career in this interview. One of the more notable comments he made on this event was about the high-profile coaches he has played with during his professional career.

While highlighting the most notable of such coaches, the winger particularly praised Hansi Flick:

“For how young I am, I’ve had the best coaches. I’ve worked with Pep, Luis Enrique, Xavi, and now Flick… they’ve all been able to get their message across to me, and having that figure from the outside always helps.”

“From day one, Hansi has been very involved, especially with players like me who aren’t getting as many minutes as we’d like. He’s very approachable and really cares about how you’re doing personally.”

Further talking about his role in the team, the Spaniard made it clear that he has no bad feelings despite not being a starter:

“I don’t feel like a substitute at all. I try to make the most of my minutes, make them count. I feel ready for any situation and approach them with great enthusiasm and determination. There’s no bad blood in this team—I get along really well with Lamine, Lewy, and Raphinha. We’re all united and pushing in the same direction.”

Despite a rare slip-up against Atletico Madrid, where he missed a couple of clear chances, Torres has been a highly effective player for Barcelona whenever called upon. However, with Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Yamal forming a formidable attacking trio, his chances of securing a regular starting role remain slim.
