Lionel Messi, the biggest name in the history of FC Barcelona, has continued to show his affection for the Catalan club in various ways despite his disagreements with the current board.
One of these ways has been his praise for the player who is deemed to be his successor at the Blaugrana club, Lamine Yamal. The Argentine has already picked Yamal out for specific praise on several occasions and he also chose him as one of the 10 players to wear his special model of Adidas shoes.
Now, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the young Barcelona winger has also returned compliments to Messi as he starred in the first episode of the Adidas’ ‘Messi+10’ campaign. The Spaniard revealed the key aspects for which he loves the Argentine maestro:
“What I admire most about Messi’s style of play is how effortlessly he does everything. He’s in a final and dribbles past four players. No matter how many players are doing things well, I think there’s no one like him. There’s only one Messi. I’m sure he now wants to win more things and another World Cup.”
Yamal was also highly impressed by the unsatiable ambition of La Pulga:
“It’s very difficult not to relax a bit when you win a title, and he never did. He had won everything—Champions Leagues, Ballon d’Ors… But he didn’t stop until he won the World Cup. He always wants more.”
There is no doubt about the veracity of Yamal’s statements about Lionel Messi. For years, Lionel Messi displayed these attributes in a Barcelona shirt, even after winning title after including, including the biggest prizes in European football. Overall, he won 34 titles, including 4 UCL and 10 La Liga titles.
Hopefully, Yamal will inherit this ambition and winning mentality from the Argentine, and help Barcelona add even more titles to their cabinet in the coming years.
