Qualification for the 2026 World Cup is in full swing. Numerous Bayern professionals are battling it out with their national teams. Some have already bought their tickets – for others, everything will only be decided in the next few days.

England captain Harry Kane is already a certainty: the Three Lions won their group in the European qualifiers with a flawless record. France’s Dayot Upamecano and Michael Olise have also made the leap: after their 4-0 win over Ukraine, France are unassailable at the top of Group D. Josip Stanisic is also a firm contender with Croatia – a 3-1 win over the Faroe Islands secured their ticket.

For six other Bayern players, the goal has not yet been reached. Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Serge Gnabry, Jonathan Tah, Jamal Musiala and Aleksandar Pavlovic are fighting for a World Cup ticket with the DFB team. The team struggled against Luxembourg before Nick Woltemade ensured a must-win with two goals. The decision will be made on Monday against Slovakia, when Nagelsmann’s Bayern axis will also be particularly in focus.

Another five Bayern stars have secured their tickets, Laimer on the verge of history

Konrad Laimer is facing a real final with Austria: only a draw against Bosnia will be enough to secure their first World Cup participation since 1998. Qualification in Asia is already assured for two Bayern defenders: Minjae Kim with South Korea and the currently injured Hiroki Ito with Japan have already secured their place at the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Alphonso Davies is automatically seeded with hosts Canada, while Luis Díaz has also made the leap to North America with Colombia – as has Nicolas Jackson with Senegal, who won through in the African qualifiers.

So it remains exciting for some of the record champions‘ stars, as the next few days will decide who can make the 2026 World Cup a permanent fixture.
