Arsenal’s summer transfer deadline day loan signing Raheem Sterling will wear the number 30 jersey for the Gunners for the rest of the season, and the Englishman has taken social media platform Instagram to share the news.

The North London club ended up getting one of the best loan deals this summer by snapping up the 29-year-old, paying no loan fee to Chelsea, while there is no option or obligation to buy him included in the deal.

Arsenal are also paying far less than 50 per cent of his £325,000 weekly wages, with those close to the talks claiming it is as little as £100,000 a week.

Sterling will be looking to prove his quality at his new home, and the likes of Yannick Bolasie, KSI and Declan Rice have reacted to his new shirt number.

The former Manchester City star could make his debut against Tottenham Hotspur on September 15 and is desperate to hit the ground running at Arsenal.

Sterling is spending the next two weeks in training and could be giving the attacking trio of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz a run for their money in the starting XI due to his versatility and quality.

He has what it takes to take Arsenal to the next level, and manager Mikel Arteta will hope his addition can help get the Gunners over the line as far as pipping Man City to the 2024-25 Premier League title.

Their new number 30 has four titles to his name and he knows one or two things about winning them.

There are no guarantees signing Sterling will work out, but he has what it takes to produce the goods, and reuniting with Arteta could help get his international career back on track after former England manager Gareth Southgate snubbed him for the European Championship.
