Didier Deschamps has revealed that he has been in contact with clubs, with his time in charge as manager of the France national team drawing to a close.
Deschamps, as he confirmed back in January, will end his time as manager of Les Bleus after the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Speaking to Téléfoot, he confirmed that, even if France win the World Cup, he will not go back on that decision.
The Frenchman led his country to become world champions back in 2018, and France also reached the World Cup final in 2022. His focus is on winning a second World Cup with Les Bleus, but he is also planning for his own future.
Asked whether there has been contact from Saudi Arabian clubs, Deschamps told Téléfoot that “there may have been contact”. He then added, “But not especially with them. I won’t name clubs, but they know my situation.”
In the interview, the France manager did, however, rule out a return to Juventus, whilst he also denied rumours linking him with the Brazil national team.
