Roy Keane has said England made Croatia look like an international minnow and has backed Jude Bellingham to become one of the greatest of all time.
England made a statement with a 7-0 thrashing of a Croatia team ranked 13th in the world on Saturday evening. The Three Lions ran riot in a remarkable Nations League result, in a performance that saw Jude Bellingham star.
The Real Madrid midfielder scored once and provided three assists, as England became the first away team to score five goals against Croatia.
Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka scored twice each, with Anthony Gordon, Bellingham, and Morgan Rogers also on target.
The win was England's biggest against a nation ranked in the top 50 in the world, while Bellingham became the first midfielder to be involved in four goals in a game for England since David Platt in 1993.
Platt's four goals came against perennial minnows San Marino, and Keane said Bellingham's brilliance against Croatia was another reminder of his incredible talent.
”Ranked 13th in the world, they made them look like a Gibraltar kind of team," former Manchester United captain Keane said toITV.
Outstanding in every aspect, and I think Bellingham can go on to become one of the greatest of all time. As long as he gets no injuries and he keeps the head.
“Again his attitude with England recently, I’ve been praising him a lot for being fantastic in possession, but what he’s doing out of possession, that lifts all these other players.
“If you have a player that good in your team who’s amazing in possession and he’s playing for Real Madrid and he’s doing brilliant things, but his work rate off the ball [is high], that will just inspire all the other players.
