Thiago Motta has selected four fresh-faced Next Gen players for his Juventus squad to face Hellas Verona in Serie A on Monday night, unsurprisingly including last weekend’s goalscorer Samuel Mbangula.

Captain Danilo is back in the squad after missing the 3-0 victory over Como on the opening weekend of Serie A fixtures last week, although he is not yet fully fit.

New signing Pierre Kalulu, who joined on loan with an option to buy from Milan earlier this week, has also travelled with the squad.

Mbangula, who marked his first Serie A start with a goal and an assist against Como last weekend, is also in the squad and is in line to start after his impressive bow last time out.

He is joined by 21-year-old defender Nicolo Savona, who also came on as a half-time substitute to replace the injured Timothy Weah against Como.

20-year-old Jonas Jakob Rouhi, also a full-back by trade is also in the squad but is unlikely to start over new signing Juan Cabal, who was denied a lovely assist after a tight offside call last time out.

There is also a call-up for 19-year-old Lorenzo Anghelè, a no.10 or attacking midfielder for the Next Gen squad. He bagged six goals and an assist from nine games with Juve’s Primavera side last year, plus another three from 26 outings with the Next Gen squad.

There are no other real surprises in Thiago Motta’s squad selection otherwise. Weah and Khephren Thuram miss out through injury, and a long list of players, including Federico Chiesa, remain out of the first-team plans.

Goalkeepers: Di Gregorio, Perin, Pinsoglio

Defenders: Danilo, Cambiaso, Bremer, Gatti, Kalulu, Cabal, Savona, Rouhi

Midfielders: Locatelli, Douglas Luiz, Fagioli, McKennie

Forwards: Vlahovic, Yildiz, Mbangula, Anghelè
