Arsenal and France great Thierry Henry has refused to separate Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, insisting both stand apart at the game's summit.

"It is a mistake. Why do people want to separate them, if they can enjoy them all? Of course, I played with Leo, and I prefer him for a sentimental reason, but that's why I will never go against Cristiano. Both are on the football moon. They are from another planet. They have made each other better, like Nadal and Federer, Prost-Senna, and others in the history of sport. Cris and Leo are out of the competition." He told Marca in London.

"I don't know what else to say about them. They are not normal. I'm amazed by their longevity, that's what I respect most about them. The way they lead their lives is a hat's off to them."

Messi has eight Ballon d'Or and four The Best FIFA Men's Player awards, plus 10 La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues and a World Cup in 2022.

Ronaldo owns five Ballon d'Or and three The Best FIFA awards, is a five-time Champions League winner, has league titles with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus, and won Euro 2016.

As their careers wind down, Ronaldo is closing in on 1000 career goals and still chasing a World Cup, while Messi hopes to secure a second successive global crown with Argentina.
