Wrexham take on Northampton Town in League One at the SToK Cae Ras on Saturday.

Wrexham made an outstanding start to life back in the third tier after their promotion from League Two last season, but it has been a tough few weeks for Phil Parkinson's men.

The Red Dragons have won just one of their last four league games, and they suffered a 1-0 defeat against Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium on Tuesday night, with Louis Thompson's 10th-minute strike sealing all three points for the hosts.

Wrexham have now failed to score in their last two outings, and while they remain second in the table, they are now five points behind leaders Birmingham City, and the Blues also have a game in hand.

The Red Dragons will be hoping to return to winning ways this weekend against a Northampton side who currently sit 19th in the table after losing three of their last four games.

When asked what changes Parkinson should make for the game against Northampton, FLW's Wrexham fan pundit Liam Grice said he would like to see Andy Cannon, Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin replace George Evans, Steven Fletcher and Jack Marriott.

"Given the performance in the Stevenage game the other day, I do think a few things need to change," Liam said.

"We'll have a few enforced changes due to injury, George Evans got injured in the last game.

"I think Ollie Palmer needs to come back into the starting XI, Steven Fletcher didn't really look up to his best, he looked a bit tired.

"I think Paul Mullin should get his chance to start now given that Jack Marriott didn't do much against Stevenage.

"The back three I think I'd keep the same, and I'd also start Andy Cannon, which is probably going to happen due to the injury to George Evans."

Paul Mullin must start for Wrexham against Northampton Town

Despite their recent decline in form, Wrexham still remain in a commanding position in the table, but they do need to pick up three points on Saturday at home to struggling Northampton.

Parkinson has some big decisions to make on who to deploy up front against the Cobblers, and having started every league game prior to the defeat at Stevenage, it seems likely that Palmer will come in for Fletcher.

It would be harsh for Parkinson to drop Marriott given that he has scored four goals in 10 appearances this season, but he is now without a goal in his last three games, and Mullin deserves an opportunity from the start.
