Jamie Carragher has issued heartfelt and highly charged message to Mohamed Salah urging the Egyptian star to remain at Liverpool until the end of the season.

And he warned him that leaving too early could cause him lasting regret.

The former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit believes Salah’s future at Anfield is nearing its end but insists that leaving midway through the campaign particularly for Saudi Arabia would be mistake that could overshadow legendary legacy.

“Think Again”

Speaking on Monday Night Football, Carragher addressed Salah and his representatives directly repeating advice he had already offered the previous week.

“If he’s thinking about moving on, I would urge him to think again,” Carragher said. “The talk is that if Mo Salah leaves Liverpool now, he goes to the Saudi league. He’s not going to Barcelona or Real Madrid.”

Carragher stressed that the timing of any departure is crucial especially with Liverpool still alive in major competitions during the second half of the season.

Despite mixed domestic campaign, Carragher believes Liverpool remain capable of something special.

“Liverpool could reach FA Cup final. They could reach Champions League final,” he explained. “Can you imagine Mo Salah in Saudi Arabia watching Liverpool walk out in Champions League final?”

A Farewell worthy of Club Legend

Carragher was adamant that Salah deserves proper Anfield send-off rather than quiet mid-season departure.

“He deserves guard of honour. He deserves mosaic in the Kop,” Carragher said. “He deserves to bring his wife and kids onto the pitch and be celebrated for what he’s done as a Liverpool player.”

According to Carragher shelving personal differences with head coach Arne Slot for few more months could allow Salah to exit on his own terms with dignity, appreciation and possibly another major trophy.

Saudi Arabia move could close the door Forever

Carragher made it clear that leaving in January would eliminate the possibility of storybook ending.

“The worst thing that happens is he gets a big send-off,” Carragher concluded. “The best thing is he’s walking out with his teammates in Champions League final. If he’s watching that from Saudi , I think he’d really regret it.”

Salah has since returned to the Liverpool squad following his omission against Inter Milan and received warm applause from Anfield after the win over Brighton.
