The last few weeks have not exactly been easy for Alphonso Davies. He has had to battle with setbacks and has had to fight his way back several times. Now he has surprised everyone by signing
A cruciate ligament rupture, which he suffered with the national team in 2025, marked the beginning of a long period of suffering for Alphonso Davies. A long period of rehab followed, the Canadian worked his way back and celebrated his comeback
However, this comeback was followed by setbacks – minor injuries that made it impossible for Davies to get back to his top level. He then set up the winning goal on his return to action at the weekend in Freiburg and also collected minutes against Real Madrid
The Canadian also made headlines today, Wednesday, with a signing that comes as a surprise, namely with Red Bull. But Davies is not moving to Leipzig, he has signed a sponsorship deal with the Austrian company. „I’m starting a new chapter with Red Bull! I’m proud to be part of the family,“ Davies wrote on his Instagram account about the news

In terms of sponsorship, Red Bull is well represented in the sports world. Skier Emma Aicher, surfer Leon Glatzer and soccer star Memphis Depay are all equipped or sponsored by Red Bull. Other names from the soccer world include Xavi Simons, Dominik Szoboszlai, Neymar and Nico Williams. Such contracts are eminently important for the group in order to perfect its own marketing strategy
In total, Red Bull has more than 600 athletes under contract. In addition to soccer, the focus is on motorsport and, of course, the extreme sports segments. However, the Group’s clear goal is to achieve greater visibility in soccer in particular. With a player like Davies in its repertoire, it is certainly getting closer to this goal.
