The FAI accuses Israel of violating the statutes of FIFA and UEFA by creating clubs in illegal settlements in the West Bank without the approval of the Palestinian Football Association. It also claims that Israel is not complying with anti-racism regulations.

Pressure is mounting across Europe. Norway has already demanded Israel's exclusion and donated the proceeds from a match to the people of Gaza. Turkey has also written to FIFA and UEFA officials to call for a complete suspension. With mounting appeals, UEFA may have to make a decision at an extraordinary meeting.
