Thomas Frank will be part of the Match of the Day pundit team for the 2026-27 Premier League campaign. Ex-footballers Toby Alderweireld, Robbie Keane and Ashley Young are also set to feature.

According to Hounslow Herald, Spurs dismissed him in February after a difficult eight-month spell, then linked with several top-flight jobs, including the Fulham and Crystal Palace vacancies, following the departures of Marco Silva and Oliver Glasner respectively.

In June the 52-year-old Dane said he would step away from management and had no plans to take a job this summer. He was on pundit duty for the 2026 World Cup with the BBC and Danish TV, and is due back on the British broadcaster.

Frank made his name in England at Brentford, overseeing the club's first Premier League promotion and delivering two top-half finishes across four seasons in the top flight.

The new season will also bring a tweak to the programme's format, alongside the fresh pundit faces. BBC Sport is launching four new YouTube formats for the men's campaign, focused on fan experience and representing all 20 Premier League clubs.

In addition, the broadcaster will show two matches from each FA Cup round and one weekly Bundesliga game on BBC iPlayer as well as the BBC Sport website and app. There will also be highlights and clips from La Liga, Serie A and the Europa League, plus international action for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
