Danish coach Thomas Frank, currently in charge of Tottenham, believes that Paris Saint-Germain's Portuguese star, Vitinha, is the strongest contender to win the next Ballon d'Or.
The PSG midfielder lit up Wednesday night by bagging a hat-trick against the Spurs (two thunderous strikes and a penalty), powering his team to a 5-3 victory in the fifth round of the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Thomas Frank was full of praise for the man of the match: "Vitinha is the best midfielder in the world. I believe he'll be the next Ballon d'Or winner."
For his part, the Portuguese international commented on his remarkable performance and hat-trick against Tottenham: "I'm not at my best yet. The best is yet to come."
He added: "I have to keep up this pace, keep improving, and get even better."
It's worth noting that Vitinha already finished third in the ranking of the best players for the 2024-2025 season, behind Spain's Lamine Yamal (FC Barcelona) and France's Ousmane Dembélé.
