Romero was charged by the FA following his red card against Liverpool before Christmas.

The Spurs captain was shown a second yellow card late on for kicking out at Ibrahima Konate and protested angrily to referee John Brooks before heading down the tunnel.

Romero was charged by the FA after it was alleged that he “acted in an improper manner by failing to promptly leave the field of play and/or behaving in a confrontational and/or aggressive manner towards the match referee after being sent off”.

He missed last weekend’s 1-0 win away to Crystal Palace through suspension but is available again to face Brentford on New Year’s Day

Frank has said he expects a decision on his charge to be made soon.

"He's ready for the game (against Brentford),” said Frank on Tuesday. “As far as I know, it's something that will be decided in early January.”

Lucas Bergvall came off with a muscular injury in the Palace win but the midfielder is fit to face Brentford.

Frank said: "Lucas is okay. I'm quite positive he will be available.”

Frank also provided a positive update on Destiny Udogie, who has been out since November with a hamstring injury.

The Spurs boss confirmed that Udogie, who is expected to return to action next month, has been running on the grass and has started individual training.

Frank said: "He is running out there on the pitch, doing individual sessions on the pitch, so progressing going forward, that's good."
