The former Robins ace has been called up to the Three Lions' senior squad for the first time
England manager Thomas Tuchel has heaped praise on former Bristol City and EFL ace, Alex Scott, who received his first call-up to the Three Lions' senior squad on Friday morning.
The 22-year-old has been a key factor in such an impressive start to the season for his current employers, AFC Bournemouth, who continue to defy the odds in the Premier League under the management of Andoni Iraola.
The Cherries have returned to being an upwardly mobile top-flight outfit ever since gaining automatic promotion from the Championship under Scott Parker in the 2021/22 season, failing to be impacted by a plethora of high-profile departures and continuous transfer speculation surrounding current stars at the Vitality Stadium.
Scott, of course, was tipped by many at Ashton Gate to have a significantly high ceiling, having watched him progress through the academy ranks in BS3 to becoming a first-team regular during the days of Nigel Pearson, after making his professional debut for the Robins in a Championship encounter against Blackpool in August 2021.
The Guernsey-born midfielder has also progressed through several age groups at international level too, starting out in the England Under-18s even prior to his City debut, before going on to feature for the Under-19s, Under-20s and most recently, Lee Carsley's Under-21s squad which won the UEFA European Championships in Slovakia back in June.
As such, Tuchel has continued to monitor his progress, and Robins supporters will certainly love the German's glowing review of their former star ahead of the final FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania next week.

Throughout his senior spell at Ashton Gate, Scott made 91 appearances for the Reds, scoring six times and posting seven assists before moving to the Dorset club for a package worth up to £25m on a five-year contract in August 2023.
After previously catching the eye of Pep Guardiola for a stunning individual performance for the Robins against Manchester City in the FA Cup back in February 2023, Scott has done exactly the same with Tuchel in the months that followed the ex-Chelsea boss' appointment as England manager 13 months ago.
So far this season, he has continued to be a midfield lynchpin for the Cherries, also scoring the opener in a 2-1 success over Brighton and Hove Albion on September 13th.
As such, Tuchel believes it is the right time to reward Scott for his consistency at club level, as he links up with several national sporting icons who have previously enhanced their own development through spells in the Championship, League One or League Two.
"He had an excellent (Under-21s) Euros, he won the title," Tuchel said.
"Lee (Carsley) was full of praise. He did an excellent job in midfield together with Elliott Anderson, who is now a regular starter for us. He was very impressive.
"Then he took another step and becomes a regular starter now for Bournemouth," the 52-year-old explained. "They are in the top-third of the league and are overperforming constantly, and he's a starter for them.
"He puts intensity in, he gets his minutes. So, we thought it was the perfect time to reward him, to get to know him and to see what he can bring to our team," Tuchel stated.

Of course, with the upcoming qualifiers having no bearing on England's progress, it is the perfect time for players in Scott's position to emerge into, and remain in Tuchel's eyeline ahead of the upcoming tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
There are several top-class players in Scott's natural position who will also be jostling for the same berth, either in the starting lineup or as part of the 26-man squad.
However, it is a deserved reward for the former City midfield maestro, who will hope to take vital knowledge from the upcoming experience, should he enter the field or not, as well as there being more chances in pre-tournament friendlies at the turn of the year to continue featuring for the Three Lions.
