Thomas Tuchel reacts mid-press conference to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City exit

Thomas Tuchel hailed Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola “one of a kind” as the England head coach was informed of his decision to leave the club midway through a press conference announcing his squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Guardiola’s departure from City was confirmed on Friday, ending a 10-year spell in charge of the club.

The 55-year-old has won 20 trophies with City, including six Premier League titles and a Champions League crown.

After a journalist informed Tuchel of the announcement, he said: “The impact he had on every league where he trained, it’s just one of a kind, just one of the very, very, very best.”
