FC Barcelona enter the new year with the long-term futures of most of their key players secured and tied down.
Indeed, sporting director Deco has done a solid job of renewing the core of the squad over the past year or so, but there are a few players whose contract situations are still pending.
One of them happens to be Ferran Torres, whose deal runs out in 2027, and talks for an extension are expected to take place soon.
But, there are three other players whose future needs addressing more urgently, for their contracts at the club run out in 2026.
Indeed, Marcus Rashford, Robert Lewandowski and Andreas Christensen, are all out of contract in June 2026. Their futures at the club remain unresolved, although each case presents different circumstances.
Of the three, according to Mundo Deportivo, the Danish centre-back has the least chance of continuing.

Rashford, 28, is currently on loan from Manchester United and has done well during the first part of the season, although the coaching staff believe he still needs to improve certain defensive and pressing aspects of his game.
The feedback from the Spotify Camp Nou has been positive, and, if he maintains this level, the club will consider activating the €30 million buy option included in his contract, although Barcelona would seek to negotiate a lower fee with Manchester United.
Lewandowski will turn 38 when the 2026-27 season begins. Barcelona are monitoring the market in search of a top-level centre-forward, although the possibility of offering the Polish striker a reduced contract for one additional season has not been ruled out.
Formal talks are expected to take place in the spring. Lewandowski, who takes great care of his physical condition, is keen to prove that he still has goals in him and wishes to stay.
As for Christensen, who will turn 30 in April, he faces a more uncertain outlook. Barcelona had already considered his departure last summer, but no firm offers materialised.
After recovering from calf problems, he returned to his best form, but a ligament injury has now sidelined him for four months. It is considered unlikely that the club will offer him a contract renewal, despite president Joan Laporta’s insistence.
