Alajbegovic, Gadou and Schuster depart

Before last Sunday's final home game of the season at the Red Bull Arena, it was time for three farewells: Kerim Alajbegovic, Joane Gadou and Jannik Schuster were given a send-off by our fans. Time to take a look back at our time together!

Kerim Alajbegovic

It was a finale in typical style: a dribble into the centre, a long-range shot and a goal. One last time our Red Bulls got to enjoy Kerim Alajbegovic – and as a parting gift, he scored one of his signature goals.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen had already exercised their buy-back option for the 18-year-old back in March. No wonder, after a season that the Bosnian international capped off with 13 goals and four assists. The Austrian Bundesliga named Kerim as Newcomer of the Season, an accolade he more than deserved.

In his farewell interview, Kerim speaks openly about what his time in Salzburg meant to him. He looks back on his best moments in red and white, talks about what particularly impressed him about our club and the environment here, and makes no secret of the fact that saying goodbye is anything but easy for him:

We wish you all the best for the future, Kerim, and of course for the upcoming World Cup with Bosnia and Herzegovina!

Joane Gadou

He joined us from Paris Saint-Germain's U19 team in the summer of 2024 and quickly settled in. During his time with us, Joane Gadou impressively demonstrated his potential. He made five appearances in the UEFA Youth League, one match for our partner club FC Liefering, and a total of 58 competitive appearances for our Red Bulls. The 19-year-old centre-back will leave us at the end of the season and take the next step in his career with Borussia Dortmund.

The 1.95 m tall defender was unable to play for us on the final matchday due to a minor foot injury. You can relive his best moments in red and white here:

We wish you all the best in Dortmund, Joane!

Jannik Schuster

Six years in Salzburg, most recently 29 competitive appearances for our Red Bulls, and now the next big step: Jannik Schuster is moving to the Premier League to join Brentford.

Unfortunately, a hip injury prevented him from making his final appearance on the pitch, but we gave our Austrian youth international a proper send-off.

In his farewell interview, Jannik explains, among other things, why the Premier League has long been his dream:

We wish you all the best in England, Jannik!

Karim Onisiwo also leaving

As announced at the weekend, Karim Onisiwo is also leaving FC Red Bull Salzburg. The 34-year-old's contract, which expires this summer, will not be renewed.

In 43 competitive matches, Karim scored four goals, including the winning goal in the 2-1 victory against Pachuca CF in the opening match of the FIFA Club World Cup. He also contributed four assists.

We thank Karim for his commitment and wish him all the best for the future!
