For the upcoming summer transfer window, the forward line is the area where FC Barcelona are looking to make changes with the highest priority.

Last summer, the Blaugranas pursued a high-profile signing, with Athletic Club winger Nico Williams frequently linked to the club throughout the window. However, the deal ultimately fell through, and the Spanish international chose to remain at the Basque club.

Now, according to SPORT, the Catalans will be looking to sign a player who can play both as a center forward and as a left-winger, and for this purpose, there are two main names that appeal to Deco.

One of these names is that of the Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, with whose entourage Barcelona had already made some informal contacts at the end of the last year. The player himself was willing to wear the Blue and Garnet shirt, but getting him would still not be easy for them as the Premier League side is asking for €100 million for his transfer.

To make things even more complicated, Arsenal are also interested in the Swedish forward, and their economic muscle means they can put forward a better economic offer for both the player and Newcastle United. Keeping in view the FFP situation of the Blaugranes, they can work on this operation only if they are able to complete a major departure next summer.

Meanwhile, another, more affordable, option for the Catalans would be the Liverpool forward Luis Diaz, whose contract ends in 2027. The Colombian winger would also be happy to play for Barcelona, and if he decides not to renew with the Merseyside club, they will have to sell him in 2026 if they do not want to lose him for free.

Thus, while Isak is still the preferred option, Luis Diaz can be a more realistic option for the Blaugranes. Meanwhile, there is another option liked by Barcelona, i.e., Benjamin Sesko, one of whose agents was spotted in Barcelona today. However, with an agreement already reached for Lewandowski’s extension, he will have to wait for another year to join and play for the Catalan club.
