The FIFA Best Awards took place overnight. For Manchester City, they had three players in the FIFA Best Men’s XI for 2024. The recognition of Ruben Dias, Rodri and Erling Haaland is a fine reward for their outstanding contributions to Manchester City’s successful 2024.

Ruben Dias had a superb 2024 playing in the heart of City’s defence. He was and continues to be the backbone of the Manchester City defence. His contribution to Manchester City’s fourth consecutive Premier League title was immense and he continues to be one of the best defenders in world football.

Rodri’s stellar 2024 campaign saw him named in the FIFA Best Men’s XI. City’s midfield general has risen to become the best midfielder in world football. He claimed the Ballon d’Or in October which shows his standing in the game. Rodri is, by far and away, City’s most important player, and that fact has been amplified since he went down with an ACL injury in September.

Erling Haaland’s fine 2024 saw him named the third and final Manchester City player in the FIFA Best Men’s XI. City’s number 9 scored 38 goals in all competitions last season and his goals at the back end of last season were crucial in City’s Premier League title triumph.

Ruben Dias, Rodri and Erling Haaland fully deserved their spots in FIFA Best Men’s XI for 2024. They all made crucial contributions to City’s success and that earned them their spots in the lineup.
