Inter Miami turned a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 win at Orlando City to claim their first victory of the season. According to interheron.com, three clear takeaways emerged from a night shaped by bold second-half tweaks.
The Herons began in a 4-2-3-1 that Orlando’s front three exploited, and they trailed after goals in the 18th and 24th minutes. A half-time reset followed.
Javier Mascherano shifted to a quasi-back three, with Micael operating at left-back after Noah Allen made way for Mateo Silvetti. With Allende and Silvetti wide, Miami stretched the flanks and Lionel Messi found more room between the lines.
Silvetti struck in the 49th minute, then Messi levelled eight minutes later. Sustained pressure told with further goals in the 85th and 90th minutes, and Telasco Segovia delivered the clincher after German Berterame chased a loose ball, shrugged off his marker and cut back for the young Venezuelan.
Berterame is yet to score, but his graft underpinned that decisive moment. Messi, 38, finished with two goals, starting his 2026 tally, and even without Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba he looked to be enjoying himself, at one point asking Orlando City’s assistant coach if he wanted the ball signed.
