Vinicius Jr.’s injury has added to Real Madrid’s growing list of setbacks in recent weeks. With the Brazilian unavailable, Carlo Ancelotti faces the challenging task of reshuffling his lineup for the crucial match against Liverpool.
Despite these difficulties, the Italian manager has several tactical options to address this issue and ensure the team’s attacking presence remains strong.
Although less likely, one option is to start Endrick alongside Kylian Mbappe. The young Brazilian has struggled to establish himself in the first team this season, featuring in only one Champions League match as a starter.
That game, against Lille, ended in disappointment as Endrick was substituted in the 57th minute following an underwhelming display.
Since then, he has been largely confined to the bench, receiving limited playing time in recent La Liga games against Osasuna and Leganés when the matches were already decided.
While the young forward offers potential, his lack of experience and inconsistent form make him a risky choice for such a high-profile encounter.
However, if Ancelotti opts for a bold move, this could be an opportunity for the youngster to showcase his talent on a big stage.

Brahim Diaz emerges as the most reliable option for Ancelotti, especially since Rodrygo is unavailable for this game.
The former AC Milan player has been in excellent form, recently scoring five goals in two matches for the Moroccan national team during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Although he was rested during Real Madrid’s win against Leganes due to his international commitments, Brahim’s current momentum makes him an ideal candidate to start against Liverpool.
In this scenario, Ancelotti could deploy a 4-4-2 formation, featuring a solid midfield quartet of Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham, Luka Modric, and either Dani Ceballos or Arda Guler. This, however, remains a more conservative and defensive solution.
Both Ceballos and Guler impressed during the Leganes match, making it a tough decision for the manager. This setup would provide defensive stability while allowing Brahim and Mbappe to spearhead the attack.

Alternatively, Ancelotti could consider a 4-3-3 formation, which would enable both Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler to feature.
In this arrangement, Brahim would occupy the right flank, Mbappe would continue on the left, and Jude Bellingham could take up a false nine role.
Bellingham thrived in a similar advanced position last season, making this a plausible option for the Liverpool clash.
This formation would provide a balanced mix of creativity, energy and dynamism in attack. Guler’s technical abilities and Brahim’s directness could stretch Liverpool’s defence, while Bellingham’s versatility could exploit any gaps in the opposition’s backline.
Ancelotti’s decision will ultimately depend on the type of tactical approach he deems most suitable for the challenge.
While the absence of Vinicius Jr. is undoubtedly a significant blow, Real Madrid have the depth and quality to adapt and compete effectively against Liverpool.
Whether it is through Brahim’s reliability, a gamble on Endrick, or a creative reshuffle with Güler and Bellingham, the Spanish giants will aim to maintain their attacking prowess on the European stage.
