Sky Sports pundit Tim Sherwood has thrown shade on Rob Edwards for his decision to leave Middlesbrough for Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Middlesbrough's Kim Hellberg has won three games since joining the club following Rob Edwards' departure to Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Sky Sports pundit Tim Sherwood throwing shade on the Wolves boss after four defeats in a row.
Edwards' departure to his former club came as somewhat of a shock, given Middlesbrough were second in the Championship. In all competitions, he won seven, drew five, and lost just three times during his 15 matches in charge at The Riverside.
However, Tim Sherwood has thrown shade on the decision by Edwards to leave for Wolves. That comes after Wolves were defeated twice at home in five days. A 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest was followed up by a 4-1 humiliation to Ruben Amorim's Man United.
It leaves Wolves 13 points adrift of safety after just two draws in their 15 games so far. They have also failed to improve under Edwards, while Boro have showed no signs of slowing down following their managerial switch to Hellberg.

Michael Dawson spoke via Sky Sports' Soccer Special ahead of their clash with Charlton Athletic, but Clinton Morrison and Sherwood had more to say on the situation, too. Dawson said: "I think it just shows, with a new manager going in, Bangura being injured for such a long time, and Kim Hellberg talked about — he got his opportunity from the way he trained.
"I was like, wow. And you watch him on Friday night and the way they set up, and they played in a different formation to what Rob Edwards did. But how he’s got them playing in two games — Hull were really, really poor, but take nothing away from Middlesbrough.
"I mean, Hayden Hackney in the middle of the park — they’ve got players who can really hurt you. Tommy Conway further up. Riley McGree. They have got a good squad.
"I put Ipswich out on their own at the start of the season, but rightly so; they are a relegated team from the Premier League. They’ve got the funds. They’ve got expensive players that should be at the top of the Championship.
"But credit to Middlesbrough and the job they’re doing at this moment in time. And credit to Rob Edwards. He got a lot, a lot of stick when he jumped ship to Wolves.
"But for Kim Hellberg going in, he must think, ‘what an opportunity". Because managers don’t often get jobs for a club doing really well. You’re normally going in to save one."
Clinton Morrison added: "I bet Rob Edwards wishes he was still there now."
Dawson laughed, stating: "Well, he knew what he was leaving: a good team that’s got good players."
Meanwhile, Sherwood took a swipe at Edwards, adding: "If I was his bank manager, I’d disagree."
He then stated his thoughts on Hellberg changing too much too soon following on from Edwards' success. He said: "I think it’s really important to keep — if it’s not broke don’t fix it. Make your changes. You know, little tweaks here and there.
"We saw it at Celtic, the job Martin O’Neill’s done. You know, new manager goes in there, gets the tactics board out and starts baffling Everton with science.
"I’m not ruling him out now, but they lost a very important game at the weekend. Why on earth did they not keep hold of Martin O’Neill until the end of the season?"

Given his start at Wolves, it's possible that they are weaker than they were under Vitor Pereira, while Boro look like a side only going one direction under Hellberg already after the 2-1 win over Charlton Athletic at The Valley.
Football analysts are having their say after the 4-1 defeat on Monday, and it appears that Boro are the only real winners out of the situation, alongside Hellberg. There is every chance that the two clubs switch leagues in May 2026.
