Following their Boxing Day defeat at the hands of Luton Town, Norwich City decided to part ways with former boss Dean Smith.
In the days since the decision has been made, a raft of domestic names have been linked with the Championship vacancy.
These include Swansea City’s Russell Martin, ex-Burnley boss Sean Dyche, AFC Bournemouth’s former head coach Scott Parker, as well as ex-Middlesbrough and Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder.
There have also been overseas candidates linked, too.
Huddersfield Town legend David Wagner will be a familiar name to fans of the EFL, but a name that might not be is German coach Tim Walter.
As per the Daily Mail, the Canaries have expressed an interest in the German coach, with the 47-year-old in the frame for the job.
With that said, below, we thought we’d take a look at who Walter is, and what his managerial career has involved so far.

The 47-year-old German coach is currently the manager of Hamburger SV, who are currently in the second tier of Germany – 2.Bundesliga.
Walter was appointed as Hamburg boss back in July 2021, guiding the club to third in 2. Bundesliga in 2021/22.
So far this season, Hamburg are currently second in the German second tier, two points off league leaders Darmstadt.
Walter’s managerial career began in youth football, working at Karlsruhe at various age levels as assistant manager and manager.
In 2015, he then had a two year stint as manager of FC Bayern Munich under-17’s, before progressing to become the manager of FC Bayern 2.
Walter then made the leap to senior management, managing Holstein Kiel and guiding them to a 6th place finish in the German second tier in 2018/19.
That season earned him the Stuttgart job after their relegation from the Bundesliga, but this spell lasted just six months.
After an 18-month break, Walter was named Hamburg boss, where as outlined above, he remains to this very day.
