AC Milan v Hellas Verona returns for Serie A 2025/26. A fixture that brings back memories of one of the most iconic seasons in Rossoneri history: 1991/92, when Fabio Capello's AC Milan won the Scudetto unbeaten, marking the beginning of the legend of Gli Invincibili. Among the milestones of that triumphant run was a dominant 4-0 win over Verona at San Siro. Let's relive it with our Time Machine.

On 17 May 1992, San Siro was in full celebration mode. AC Milan had already been crowned league champions after drawing 1-1 with Napoli the previous weekend, and the match against Verona was the perfect occasion to celebrate the title with their home crowd. The Rossoneri played with trademark intensity and took the lead in the 18th minute: after Maldini was brought down in the box, Van Basten calmly converted the resulting penalty for 1-0. Milan played with freedom and confidence, while Verona struggled to find a foothold.

The second half began with the Rossoneri doubling their lead. Verona tried to clear a long ball from their box, but Gullit collected it on the edge of the area, powered past his marker and unleashed a left-footed strike into the net. AC Milan controlled the game with authority from there, but the real show came late on. The spotlight turned to Carlo Ancelotti, who, in his final San Siro appearance as an AC Milan player, scored twice in the 77th minute: first with a thunderous strike from distance, then by slotting home from close range after winning the ball high up the pitch. It ended 4-0 - a standing ovation from San Siro and a fitting celebration of AC Milan's 12th Scudetto.
