Inter have had a couple players out with injury in their last few matches.

One is midfielder Barella. The 27-year-old picked up a thigh strain during the Nerazzurri’s derby loss against AC Milan, and has missed three matches while recovering.

Meanwhile, Canadian international wingback Buchanan is a long-term absentee.

The 25-year-old suffered a broken leg during the summer. This has meant that he has yet to be available for selection for Inter this season.

However, both Barella and Buchanan are getting close to recovering. They should be back in full training relatively soon.

When Tajon Buchanan & Nicolo Barella Can Return To Full Training For Inter Milan

In the case of Buchanan, the former Club Brugge wingback has been recovering for more than three months.

Therefore, there is still some uncertainty about the exact timeline for the Canadian’s return.

Buchanan is very close to being ready to make a full return to training.

The 25-year-old should be training with the rest of the squad by the end of the international break.

However, it is not yet certain whether Buchanan will be able to be part of the squad for Inter’s first match back from the break. That will be away to Roma on the 20th of this month.

In any event, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will aim to reintroduce Buchanan into the team over the first few matches the team play after the break.

After the match against Roma, Inter face Young Boys in the Champions League and then Juventus in Serie A.

In the case of Barella, the timeline is a little more straightforward.

The former Cagliari midfielder should be able to make a swift return once he has fully recovered.

Therefore, Barella is targeting being available as a starter against Roma after the break.
