RB Leipzig have been drawn against SV Sandhausen in the first round of the 2025/26 DFB-Pokal. The match will take place on Saturday, 16th August 2025 at 15:30 CEST at the Hardtwaldstadion in Sandhausen.

The fourth-tier club were previously our first-round opponents back in the 2021/22 season, as the Red Bulls emerged 4-0 victors before going onto win the whole thing, clinching a first cup win in the final against SC Freiburg.

Managing director sport, Marcel Schäfer

  1. "In SV Sandhausen, we will be facing an ambitious fourth-division team that will certainly not make our DFB-Pokal first-round task easy. Nevertheless, we possess the clear target to go and win the game and progress to the second round. We came very close to making the trip to Berlin again last season and that remains one of our absolute top priorities for the coming campaign."
