Timur Tutierov sets targets after impressing for Sunderland against York City and Liverpool | OneFootball

Timur Tutierov has targeted further progress after a bright pre-season that included goals against York City and Liverpool.

“I am so proud for myself and so proud for the lads. We had a great opportunity to play against unbelievable players like (Dominik Szoboszlai),” he told the club website.

After training with Regis Le Bris’ first-team group, the 21-year-old struck at York City, then earned a place on Sunderland’s three-game tour of the United States. Against Liverpool, Kieran Morrison opened the scoring, Enzo Le Fee levelled, and Tutierov put Sunderland ahead before Dominik Szoboszlai, Federico Chiesa and Lewis Koumas sealed a 4-2 Reds win.

The Ukraine Under-21 international spent the second half of last season on loan at Exeter City, scoring three and assisting one in 17 appearances. He has since signed a new deal that keeps him at Sunderland until the summer of 2028.

“I am so happy about that, it can not be better. The season has started good for me and I hope I am going to keep this level and keep these standards.”
