To Madrid and back: PSV find out Champions League opponents | OneFootball

The draw for this seasons Champions League league phase has taken place and PSV now know who their eight opponents will be. The Dutch side have a mixed bag in terms of opposition and will be confident of getting points on the board.

In terms of home fixtures, the side will face Atletico Madrid, Club Brugge, Shakthar Donetsk and VFB Stuttgart. PSV fans will be confident that, outside of perhaps Atletico, the side will be favourites to win the other three home games. This would put them in a strong position to qualify for the next round if they can pick up 12 points in Eindhoven.

Away from home, PSV face the other side from Madrid in Real Madrid. The trip to the Santiago Bernabéu is the highlight of their Champions League league phase, with other trips being to Porto, Leipzig and to debutants Viking in Stavanger.

Last season PSV finished 28th in the league phase with just eight points from their eight games. This included two wins, two draws and four defeats, with 16 goals scored and 16 goals conceded. They will be hoping for a much better showing in the Champions League this coming season.
