Tolu Arokodare hits back at reports over halted Wolves training | OneFootball

Tolu Arokodare has rejected what he called inaccurate reports surrounding a halted Wolves training session, saying he was surprised and disappointed by the coverage.

Cesar Peixoto is understood to have stopped Monday’s session at Compton Park after the 25-year-old refused to leave the first-team group. Arokodare did not feature in Wednesday’s 1-0 friendly win at Maidenhead United. He is widely expected to leave Molineux this summer and is believed to favour a move to Fiorentina after rejecting Trabzonspor.

In his social media message, he stressed he has always conducted himself professionally and maintained high training standards, aiming to be ready to help team-mates and the club whenever called upon.

He added that he remains under contract at Wolves and intends to meet his responsibilities by training, doing his job and contributing to the team.

Arokodare joined from Genk for £24million last summer but scored only three Premier League goals as the club were relegated from the Premier League. In April, he faced disciplinary action after a dressing-room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane during a 4-0 defeat at West Ham, when he was the sole aggressor.
