Tom Holland to attend Madrid event for Spain’s World Cup opener

Tom Holland will be in Madrid on Monday evening as Spain begin their World Cup campaign against Cape Verde, with the match screened at 18:00 on Plaza de Colon.

According to L'Équipe, the Spider-Man actor will be the star guest of the pre-match event on the square, which is being temporarily renamed Plaza Seleccion.

The square will screen several of Spain’s matches on a giant screen, except when kick-offs fall in the middle of the night because of the time difference.

A pop-up museum will display a number of trophies and there will be musical entertainment.

Holland’s visit comes as the latest Spider-Man film is scheduled for release at the end of July.
