Tommy Doyle has signalled he may be moving on from Birmingham City after posting a thank-you message following the end of his loan.

According to Molineux.news, the Wolves midfielder joined ahead of the 2025/26 season after limited minutes under Gary O’Neil then Vitor Pereira, starting well before struggling for regular starts at St Andrew’s.

Birmingham had a clause to sign him permanently for £10 million if they were promoted, but they missed out, so the option was not triggered. In his post, he thanked the club and supporters for the season and wished them well for the future.

The tone of that sign-off suggests a return to Birmingham is unlikely, and he will now head back to Wolves.

Wolves could seek another loan for the midfielder or explore a sale, though his near 100 Championship appearances may strengthen the case to keep him.

He is expected to hold talks over his next steps, while replies to his message praised his quality and professionalism.
