Tommy Watson is expected to be available for a Championship loan this summer, with several clubs showing interest, according to Sky Sports.
The winger left Sunderland for Brighton in a £10m deal last summer. His switch had been announced weeks before Wembley, then he came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner against Sheffield United that sent Régis Le Bris’ side back to the Premier League for the first time since 2017.
Regular minutes have been scarce at the Amex. Watson scored on his debut in a 6-0 EFL Cup win over Oxford United, then joined Millwall on loan for the final months of the 2025-26 campaign.
A Horden-born academy graduate, he joined Sunderland at under-nine level and made his senior debut in April 2023 against Huddersfield Town. He signed a new three-year contract in September 2023 after recovering from a back injury.
His breakthrough arrived in December 2024 with his first league goals in a 2-1 Championship win over Stoke City. Watson officially joined Brighton on 1 June, signing a long-term deal through to 2029.
