Ivan Toney has been recalled to the England squad for the upcoming international fixtures against Andorra and Senegal.
The 29-year-old striker has been rewarded for an impressive first season at Al-Ahli, where he scored 29 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.
Toney has not featured for the national team since last summer’s European Championship, where he assisted Harry Kane’s extra-time winner in the last-16 victory over Slovakia. He served an eight-month suspension for breaching betting rules before returning to action with Brentford in January and securing a move to Saudi Arabia later that summer.
England face Andorra in a World Cup qualifier in Barcelona on June 7 before taking on Senegal in a friendly at the City Ground in Nottingham three days later.
The squad will head to Spain early and plan to attend the Spanish Grand Prix on June 1 as part of their preparations.
Phil Foden is not included after requesting a rest period to address his physical and mental wellbeing, while Jack Grealish also misses out after a season of limited involvement at Manchester City.
There had been suggestions Ben White could return to the fold after making himself available for selection, but he has been overlooked.
Trevoh Chalobah has earned his first senior call-up following a strong run of form with Chelsea. The defender joins club teammates Levi Colwill, Reece James and Noni Madueke in the squad.
Several players who featured in England’s last camp are absent this time. Marcus Rashford, Jarrell Quansah, Tino Livramento, Marc Guehi, Aaron Ramsdale and Dominic Solanke are all left out.
Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton is also omitted but is expected to be involved in the Under-21 European Championship this summer.
England currently sit top of their World Cup qualifying group and are aiming to build momentum ahead of the autumn fixtures.
