Real Madrid legend Toni Kroos has provided his take on the club’s long-awaited latest triumph in El Clásico.
As part of the latest episode of his personal podcast, Einfach mal Luppen, the subject of Sunday’s showdown between Real Madrid and Barcelona took its place centre stage.
And Kroos was full of praise for his former employers, in explaining:
“I’m very happy that Real Madrid won. A well-deserved victory. They took advantage of Barcelona’s play. The score could’ve been higher at half-time. Real Madrid approached the match with great intelligence.”
From here, focus turned towards the latest controversy surrounding Blancos standout Vinícius Jr.
Wide-man Vinícius has come in for widespread criticism over recent days, owing to his furious reaction to being substituted during the 2nd-half of El Clásico.
And Kroos did his best to defend his ex-teammate, in assuring:
“When you play an exceptional game, especially in a game like this, you are not happy. I never liked being replaced either. But to be fair, I’ve never gone straight to the locker room, but he did return.”
