Most fans typically tend to employ generous expectations for their beloved clubs from time to time, yet the demand for success is greater and more profound when it comes to certain teams at this level.

The Championship is, of course, home to some seriously big-hitting clubs each season, and whereas some can get away with relative underperformance on expectations and potential, the margin for error is much thinner with others.

For those harboring intentions of competing at the top-end of the table, pressure is plentiful and, if there's a chance those aspirations may not be realised, fans fail to stay quiet about it for long.

But who are the most demanding fanbases in the Championship right now? Football League World has consulted AI-based chatbot, ChatGPT, to name and rank the SIX most impatient sets of supporters throughout the division.

It's no surprise that Birmingham City get the ball rolling with what AI believes to represent the sixth-most impatient fanbase on offer in the Championship, with expectations having been heightened tenfold in this corner of the Second City over the last couple of years.

Spearheaded by popular chairman Tom Wagner, St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park has been reawakened by the club's ambitious ownership and Bluenoses aplenty are desperate for Birmingham's ascent to continue in the direction of the lofty aims held at boardroom level.

Indeed, Wagner himself declared that successive promotions were the objective following Blues' swift return to the Championship with an EFL-record points haul of 111 and their summer spending last year reflected that, although inconsistent form and a resulting 10th-placed finish saw pressure quickly mount on head coach Chris Davies.

For now, at least, his position in charge is secure, but fans expected more progress by this stage and they never spare much time in voicing their frustrations.

As for Sheffield United, AI has pinpointed recent history as a defining reason for a shortage in patience among the Bramall Lane faithful - though the present state of play would indicate that any serious demands may need to be put on hold.

Boro have had numerous failed attempts at both making the top-six - now a top-eight, of course - and getting over the line to promotion, having fallen at the final hurdle by losing to Hull City in last term's final at Wembley.

As such, then, AI has highlighted sustained ambitions of promotion, high expectations and a sizeable fanbase that wants to see progress and vindication for the vast sums of money that popular owner Steve Gibson has invested in pursuit of a return to the promised land.

We've seen how patience can wear thin among Middlesbrough fans when it comes to both players and managers alike, and while Kim Hellberg is beloved on Teesside as he bids to escape the Championship this season, the much-liked Swede will also know that there is little margin for error following a cash-splashing summer transfer window and firm expectation for an automatic promotion charge.

Considering that many Wolves fans will have watched the club rack up one of the most impressive Championship campaigns of all time before recording successive seventh-placed finishes in the Premier League and venturing into Europe not long ago, they won't be intending on seeing the Old Gold muck about in the second-tier for long and anything other than promotion would, quite rightly, be viewed as a failure.

That's precisely why AI has labeled the Molineux crowd as the Championship's third-most impatient fanbase, a claim that will no doubt come to life if results go awry under Cesare Peixoto - as we've already seen how demanding they can be with previous bosses and the ownership regime.

Whereas other clubs would be happy with a play-off finish this term, Wolves will have their sights set on a top-two spot and have the history, spending power and squad quality to make that happen.

Failing to, however, would ignite uproar in this side of the Black Country, where fans have become accustomed to the very highest level and simply won't tolerate being away for too long.

There's nobody at Southampton who needs to now put everything right than Eckert, though, and a third season in the Championship is unlikely to be tolerated on the south coast.

The Saints have yo-yoed between the top two divisions in recent seasons and will need to continue that trend, while perhaps showing more stability at the highest level, in order to maintain the goodwill of a fanbase that is used to seeing their club playing above the Championship.

Vast funds are splashed out by second-tier standards and the expectation is consistently strong, which, in turn, shortens the margin for error and means that Southampton fans will lose patience if they're not competing for either first or second-place this term.

West Ham's relegation from the Premier League sparked enough uproar within the 62,500-capacity London Stadium following 14 consecutive years in the top-flight, and ever since their fate was sealed, Nuno Espirito Santo's side have been billed as title favourites en-masse.

Their stature, historical standing, financial muscle and ultra-talented second-tier squad compared to their divisional counterparts means that everything needs to go to plan if fans are to stay onside, and questions would be asked if the East Londoners were to fail to lift the league title.
