FLW takes a look at which eight Championship managers are the most likely to be sacked right now.
This season, there has been plenty of managerial movement in the EFL Championship, with multiple clubs making changes in the dugout - with some even making more than one switch.
Eric Ramsay was the most recent boss to be handed his marching orders, as he was sacked by West Bromwich Albion after just nine games in charge in all competitions, while Ruben Selles was the first of the 2025/26 campaign following Sheffield United's shocking start to the season.
Now, pressure will be mounting on several managers in the Championship, and with just over 10 games to go until the curtain closes on yet another incredible year of second tier action, there may still be some late movement as clubs go all out to reach their targets.
Football League World has picked out the eight most likely Championship head coaches to be sacked right now, and ranked them from eighth to first.

In eighth place, FLW has Watford boss Ed Still. While the brother of Will Still has not spent long in charge of the Hornets so far, there is perhaps always a lingering feeling of doubt in the minds of anyone who takes on the role of head coach at Vicarage Road.
He is their 14th permanent boss since September 2019, when his predecessor Javi Gracia left the club for the first time, and the managerial merry-go-round that often finds itself in Hertfordshire could easily strike at any time - no matter how well the team is performing.
Still is Watford's third manager of the campaign already, and he must ensure that he is on the right side of the Pozo family if he is to make a name for himself in WD18. However, there is always a threat that he could be told to leave at any time, and he must keep the team towards the play-offs to guarantee that he will be about once the summer is over.

Paul Heckingbottom has overseen quite the rise at Preston North End since taking on the job in August 2024, and after keeping the Lilywhites in the Championship last season, he has pushed them up the league table in this campaign.
However, there is no denying the fact that the Lancashire side are suffering from an extremely poor run of form and the ex-Sheffield United boss must find a fix before his team start to slump down the table towards a lower-half finish.
Preston have won just a handful of times in the last few months, and two of those have come against bottom of the table Sheffield Wednesday. It is vital that Heckingbottom starts to find some results quickly to ensure his future at Deepdale.

Similar to Heckingbottom at Preston, Stoke City started the season off well, and they looked odds on to finish in a play-off position at the very least. However, the last few months have been tough for the club and their head coach, Mark Robins.
The Potters are suffering from plenty of injuries right now, but what once looked as though it was going to be a really positive campaign, has quickly turned into the revolving nightmare of the last eight years, with another mid-to-lower-end of the table finish likely to be secured.
Robins is relatively unlikely to be sacked before the end of the season, but if Stoke's form does not pick up in the next few weeks, a change of direction could be put in place by John Coates to help the club in their push for a return to the Premier League.

Nathan Jones has taken Charlton Athletic from the bottom end of League One to the Championship in the space of just under two years, and he has been a crucial cog in the rise of a club who looked as though they were headed for League Two.
Yet, the Addicks have been lacklustre in the second-half of the season, and they are yet to fully stave off the threat of relegation. While Jones is in no doubt safe if he does keep the team in the second tier, relegation could see his time in charge at The Valley come to an end.
Charlton do have a healthy gap to those currently occupying the bottom three, but a poor run in the coming weeks could see them slip towards danger and those at the top may look for an alternative to help save the club from a potential relegation.

Right now, Portsmouth are in a similar position to Charlton, and they do have an advantage over the bottom three as we head into the run-in. Yet, the threat of the drop has not quite gone at any point this season, and John Mousinho has work to do to ensure his side stay in the Championship.
Relegation would undo all the hard work from the last few years at Fratton Park, and ultimately, it could cost the 39-year-old if they were to drop down the table and into the clutches of the drop zone.
Mousinho has worked wonders at Portsmouth in his time with the club, but they need to find and maintain form quickly, otherwise the London-born boss could find himself on the lookout for a new job.

QPR have never truly hit their stride in the Championship this season, and while they have shown flashes of brilliance, there is no denying that this has been a relatively underwhelming campaign for the West London outfit.
Julien Stephan looked as though he was going to make huge changes to a club that had struggled to take the step back towards the Premier League, but consistency has been hard to come by and a change in direction in the summer would perhaps not be overly surprising given the competitive nature of the second tier.
The R's are not going to be relegated, but they are also unlikely to push towards the top six with the gap into double digits now. Therefore, those in the boardroom at Loftus Road may look for a change this summer.

Less than a year ago, Birmingham City won promotion to the Championship in a record-breaking League One campaign. However, despite extraordinary spending levels for a side who were in the third tier last time out, they are looking less and less likely to break into the top six this season.
Unfortunately for Chris Davies, the book will lie with him if Blues are unable to finish in the play-off spots, and Tom Wagner may look for a new face to help the team in their bid for Premier League promotion next season, with it likely that even more money will be spent.
Birmingham have not hung around with managers in the past, with John Eustace and Wayne Rooney both being handed their P45s under the current ownership, and Davies has pressure mounting on him right now at St. Andrew's.

This season has been one that Sheffield Wednesday supporters will never forget, but for all the wrong reasons. Administration, points deductions and relegation in February to their bitter rivals away from home has left Henrik Pedersen with a huge amount of work to do this summer.
However, there are questions to be asked as to whether he will be given the opportunity to stick around in S6 once this season comes to an end with a huge overhaul needed at Hillsborough as they search for a new owner following Dejphon Chansiri's departure in October.
At this moment in time, it seems likely that Sheffield Wednesday will finish on negative points, and while they have had plenty going against them, Pedersen has come under fire at times and a fresh ownership group will surely be looking to bring in their own head coach to oversee the rebuild of the Owls.
