Manchester United are yet to make a serious push for a left-back signing, with only a few hours remaining before the transfer window closes.

On Monday, The Daily Mail suggested that the word from inside Old Trafford is that United are “open to doing so if the right opportunity comes along, but there is no guarantee it will happen.”

United’s primary target is thought to be Lewis Hall, but Newcastle United’s firm stance of not selling him is likely to prevent any progress from the Red Devils. The same cannot be said about Real Madrid’s stance.

Real Madrid would be open to offers for Eduardo Camavinga

According to The Athletic, Real Madrid are aware that several teams in the Premier League have positions to fill, and they have “not entirely ruled out a last-minute exit.”

It is understood Los Blancos would be open to offers for midfielder Eduardo Camavinga or centre-back Raul Asencio (both 23).

Camavinga has featured in all three of Real’s La Liga games under Jose Mourinho this season. The Portuguese manager even praised the Frenchman for his performance against Malaga.

However, once all Real midfielders are fully fit, Camavinga is likely to struggle for minutes, especially in central midfield.

As such, Real would seemingly be prepared to cash in on him if the right offer arrives in the next few hours.

Manchester United interested in Eduardo Camavinga

Meanwhile, last week, reports in Spain claimed Manchester United remain interested in Camavinga ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.

It was suggested the Premier League giants are willing to make an offer for Camavinga.

The 23-year-old France international is naturally a defensive midfielder but under Carlo Ancelotti, he impressed as a left-back. His athleticism and long legs make him an astute presence in the defensive third.

Furthermore, his composure with the ball at his feet allows him to be a reliable option during build-up.

Camavinga certainly has traits to strengthen United’s left flank and compete with other midfielders for a spot in the centre. Still, whether INEOS would be ready to commit a significant figure this late in the window remains unclear.
