Barcelona returned to top spot after beating Levante 3-0, aided by Real Madrid’s 2-1 defeat at Osasuna. Villarreal remain third after overcoming Valencia, and Atlético are fourth following a 4-2 win over Espanyol.

As reported by as.com, video review proved decisive in two fixtures on matchday 25. At San Mamés it flagged a foul by Bigas on Laporte, and Guruzeta converted the winning penalty for the hosts.

In Pamplona, VAR alerted to a foul by Courtois on Budimir for a penalty, then confirmed a Raúl García goal as Osasuna beat Real Madrid 2-1.

The system also intervened at La Cartuja, where Martínez Munuera reviewed a potential red card and penalty by Valentín on Ratiu, but stuck with a foul and yellow. In Villarreal against Valencia, one penalty was awarded to each side after review.

Across the season there have been further interventions that altered outcomes, including goals awarded or disallowed for offside or handball, and penalties retaken for encroachment, shaping how the notional table would look without VAR.
