AC Milan Primavera have now effectively written off their chances of a position in the play-offs at the end of the season, with a defeat to Torino this morning.

Ahead of this game, there was a growing feeling that Milan may be able to squeeze themselves into the Primavera play-offs at the end of the season, especially after last weekend’s win. However, this hope has disappeared.

The opening 45 were rather back to front, with the Rossoneri having a few chances to get themselves ahead in the game. However, none were taken, despite going close on a number of occasions, though the same could also have been said for Toro.

Within two minutes of the second half starting, things started to fall apart as the hosts took the lead through Vecchia – a poor goal to concede with no one around the attacker. Things would only get worse too. Just a minute later, Sala made a foul in the box and Torino were awarded a penalty, which Gabellini did not miss.

In the 80th minute, the Diavolo were awarded a penalty of their own, which was converted by Bonomi. Unfortunately though, nothing was built by the Primavera after this goal, and with it, their play-off hopes are pretty much done. A real shame, indeed.
