According to Glorioso 1904, Torino remain keen to keep Rafael Obrador beyond his January loan, but any agreement hinges on Benfica appointing their next head coach. The Spanish left-back’s future is still undecided.
The Serie A club declined to trigger the option set at nine million euros. They still want a permanent deal and are awaiting Benfica’s response.
Benfica will first gauge the plans of the incoming coach before making a final decision on the full-back’s future.
Obrador, 22, joined Benfica from Real Madrid for five million euros, having previously spent time on loan at Deportivo de La Coruña. He has taken the reverse path to Álvaro Carreras and has yet to establish himself at the Estádio da Luz.
This season, across Benfica and Torino, he has made 19 appearances, 15 in Serie A, two in Liga Portugal Meu Super, one in the Coppa Italia and one in the Liga Portugal Betclic. Over 1,383 minutes he has one goal and three assists, and he is valued at four million euros.
